ASQF & IREB Roundtable “Requirements Engineering meets AI”

27.10.2022 | 17:00 - 20:00

IREB and ASQF are inviting you to a joined event about “Requirements Engineering and Artificial Intelligence”.

Key dates:

  • When: on 27.10.2022 17h CET
  • Duration: 3h
  • Format: Online (impuls talks + panel discussion)

At our event, we will discuss requirements engineering (RE) and artificial intelligence (AI) from two perspectives:

  • AI for RE: What are the opportunities and limitations of using AI to support the RE process, e.g., analyzing existing documents, asking the right questions, finding inconsistencies in requirements, etc.
  • RE for AI: What challenges need to be overcome in RE for AI systems, e.g., data for learning the AI engine, validation of requirements, ethical aspects, etc.?

AGENDA
17:00 Welcome
17:10 Impuls talk by Rik Marselis (Sogeti) “Quality engineering FOR and WITH artificial intelligence”
17:30 Tool talk „RE with AI – what is State of the Art in RE Tools?“

Speaker and Panelists:

Rik Marselis (Sogeti)
Rik Marselis is principal quality consultant at Sogeti in the Netherlands. He is a highly regarded presenter, trainer, author, consultant and coach for quality engineering & testing.
Rik is a fellow the SogetiLabs R&D network. He is a co-author of the TMAP books “Testing in the digital age – AI makes the difference” and “Quality for DevOps teams”. He is the chairman of the TMAP special interest group.
In 2022 Rik received the ISTQB Software Testing Excellence Award and the EuroSTAR Best Tutorial Award.

Dr. Gergana Baeva (iRights.Lab)
Dr. Gergana Baeva works as a research fellow at the independent think tank iRights.Lab. There, she supervises the field of AI certification at the Center for Trustworthy AI. Previously, she was responsible for media policy and research at the media authority of Berlin and Brandenburg, where she managed several studies on the use of online content and the spread of disinformation. During her doctoral studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, she researched collective identities in the media and broadcasting structures.

Sebastian Adam (OSSENO Software)
Dr. Sebastian Adam is Managing Director of OSSENO Software GmbH and responsible for product innovation and marketing. Before joining OSSENO, he worked for 10 years as a consultant, scientist and team leader for requirements engineering at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE). Dr. Adam has assisted several dozen companies and has best practices in the introduction and implementation of requirements engineering across all industries.

Dr. Bernt Andrassy (DRIMCO GmbH)
Bernt Andrassy is CEO and Co-Founder of the Munich AI startup DRIMCo. With its product DRIM (Digitalized Requirements & Interface Management) DRIMCo introduces AI based requirements understanding and knowledge digitalization into the requirements processes in industry.
Before founding DRIMCo Bernt Andrassy worked for more than 10 years for Siemens developing business and technologies in the domain of AI based voice and text understanding digitalizing industrial processes.

Prof. Dr. Bettina Buth (HAW Hamburg)
Prof. Dr. Bettina Buth is a professor for software engineering at HAW Hamburg since 2004. Her areas of expertise comprise software engineering in development and quality assurance including testing, life-cycle processes and standards as well as formal methods. One strong emphasis is on analysis techniqes for safety critical systems.
In-depth experience stems from projects in aerospace, train applications ans specifically space engineering. During her job at EADS Space she was a member of ESA standardization groups for safety engineering. Teaching the Certified Tester material since 2007 has lead to an association with GTB, the German Testing Board. At GTB and within the Subgroup on Test, Analysis and Verification (TAV) of the German Association for Computer Science (GI) Bettina Buth is an active member of working groups discussing the mutual benefits and risks of testing in the context of AI.
The ongoing discussions in these and other groups has strengthened her belief that in order to promote the topics related to AI and Software Engineering need to be tackled by inter-disciplinary teams in teaching and research as well as in practice.
