Process Capability Checks – A New Way to Improve Project Performance

Abstract:
• Based on several years of experience with Automotive SPICE assessments, the Engine Systems Business Unit has looked for a different way to gain measurable data and insight about the process capability performance of embedded SW development.
• A new approach (Process Capability Checks) has been developed that provides more frequent insight and status about improvement measure effectiveness.
• Implementation in several pilot projects was targeting on coaching aspects and raising project performance. Roll out at a global scale demonstrated high acceptance by projects.
• Experience and limitations from applying the PCC Method will be discussed. Outlook how to apply in different use cases will be given
