Tamal Datta “Java Design Patterns for Selenium based Test Automation Framework in LeasingMarkt”

Abstract:
The word “maintainability” is a great hurdle for all Test Automation guys. Codes can be written fast in Selenium library. But how to properly maintain a Code library? Maybe we need a proper Automation Framework which is based on SOLID principles. Here through SOLID I meant SRP (Single Responsibility Principle), OCP (Open/Closed Principle), LSP (Liskov Substitution Principle), ISP (Interface Segregation Principle), DIP (Dependency Inversion Principle). Although in LeasingMarkt we don’t use all these design patterns, rather we developed an Automation Framework based on POM (Page Object Pattern) combined with SRP (Single Responsibility Principle), SDP (Strategy Design Pattern) and FDP (Factory Design Pattern). This lecture will cover how we implemented this solution and combined it with database mapping.

Tamal Datta had been working in German Software Test Automation Industry since 2016. He has done many different projects from Web, backend Automation to Network Security Testing. Former graduate in Applied Computer Science from Bochum University. Always eager to learn new tools specially combining ML/AI tools with Automation Framework as this is where the future is heading.
